Accounting Manager

Location: LIHI Main Office, International District of Seattle
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Pay Range: $108,000-120,000 annually
Position Type: Exempt, non-union position
This is a management level position responsible for accounting operations for the LIHI Agency and a growing number of related limited partnerships and limited liability corporations. Supervise a staff of 3 to 4 accountants. Oversee month-end, quarterly and year-end closing. Responsible for the production of monthly and quarterly financial statements for the entities, and for ensuring compliance with the financial terms of loans, grants, donations and operating agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Produce timely and accurate financial statements for internal and external users of LIHI financial information. Generate various reports for internal use, loans, grants and investor compliance.
- Serve as liaison to independent auditors for the annual audits of the various entities.
- Responsible for detailed research, analysis and interpretation of various accounting issues and reporting requirements.
- Work with the CFO to develop accounting policies and procedures that ensure effective internal accounting controls and promote compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Hire, direct, train and evaluate accounting staff.
- Track financial status of tiny house villages and shelters individually and as a program within LIHI.
- Serve as a resource to tiny house village and shelter programs.
- Advise and assist tiny house village managers
- Serve as liaison with government funders.
- Supervise, train staff, and invoice funders of tiny house villages and enhanced shelters
- Become proficient with accounting processes of property management
- Provide routine financial reports, analyze budget actual variance and bring up ineligible costs or other issues that could result in incompliance or financial deficit with Department of Special Project and Operations and escalate to senior management team if needed.
- Supervise and be responsible for all grant invoicing.
- Work with Development Department and Finance Department development liaison closely to optimize the usage of funding when acquisition, rehab or new construction funding is involved in the project setup,
- Engage with assigned training and comply with training deadlines
- Other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- Five years of Accounting experience with an Enterprise Level accounting system and a minimum of three years of supervisory experience
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- Must pass criminal background checks and drug screening
- Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification
