ACCOUNTING SPECIALISTACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
MGM Brakes, a division of Indian Head Industries, Inc., is the leading supplier of spring brake actuators and service chambers for domestic and global truck, trailer, bus and specialty vehicles for the commercial vehicle industry. We are currently seeking a highly enthusiastic individual for our Accounting Specialist position, located in our Charlotte, N.C. corporate office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This role primarily involves processing Cloverdale, CA manufacturing plant invoices for accounts payable, verifying required support and approvals, and ensuring timely vendor payments. This position will also be responsible for applying cash receipts to daily accounts receivable transactions and maintaining all related documents for the California and North Carolina facilities for both cash receipts and collections. The Accounting Specialist is required to interact with vendors to address payment and invoice concerns and may assist with the resolution of customer collection matters. Additional tasks include supporting the month-end and year-end financial closings and annual audit processes.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent experience in related field is preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of Accounts Payables and Receivable experience
- Knowledge of accounting processes, principles, and inventory flow
- Knowledge of Sales & Use Tax
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work with tact, professionalism, and minimum supervision
- Ensure timely payment of A/P invoices
- Process all cash receipts daily for manufacturing locations
- Research and process state specific sales & use tax as required
- Ensure accounting processing deadlines are met
- Maintain Cloverdale Accounts Payable files
- Provide administrative support for Materials, Production, and Operations
- Assist with general office administrative support as needed
