Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified ASNT Level III Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to oversee, develop, and ensure the integrity of NDT programs within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing inspection procedures, interpreting codes and standards, training and certifying personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for all NDT methods (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT, ET, VT).
- Develop, approve, and maintain NDT procedures in accordance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO, API, AWS).
- Interpret and apply industry codes, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Train, evaluate, and certify Level I and Level II personnel in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, or NAS-410.
- Review and validate inspection reports and test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Interface with customers, auditors, and third-party inspectors regarding NDT programs and quality assurance.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and techniques in NDT and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain calibration and documentation of NDT equipment.
- Seek out new customers through business development
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Current and valid ASNT Level III certification in at least one NDT method (multiple methods preferred).
- Minimum [5+] years of experience in the NDT field, including hands-on experience and program management.
- Strong understanding of various NDT techniques and their applications across different materials and industries.
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
- Experience in industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, nuclear, or automotive is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and NDT-related software tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- NDT Level III certifications in multiple disciplines.
- Experience with digital radiography, ultrasonic, mag particle & liquid penetrant testing.
Working Conditions:
- Work may be performed in a lab, shop floor, or field environment.
- Some travel shall be required for audits, training, or on-site inspections.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in certain environments.
- Able to work in a “team” atmosphere
Salary: $95,000 to $120,000 “Commensurate with Experience”
