ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – CIVIL LITIGATION 

 
Athens, Ohio | Full-Time | In-Office 

Mollica Gall Sloan & Sillery Co., L.P.A. seeks an associate attorney to join its established Athens, Ohio law practice. The firm has served clients in Athens and throughout southeastern Ohio for over 75 years and offers the opportunity to build a rewarding practice in a collegial, community-oriented setting. 

The Position 

• The position will focus primarily on civil litigation. The successful candidate can expect to work on matters that include: 
• Defense of personal injury claims; 
• Defense of legal malpractice and other professional-negligence claims; 
• Probate and trust litigation; 
• Foreclosure actions; 
• Landlord-tenant disputes; and 
• Other civil and commercial litigation. 

Depending on the attorney’s interests and the firm’s needs, the associate may also have opportunities to participate in the firm’s other practice areas, including business law, estate planning, probate administration, real estate, and representation of public and nonprofit entities. 

This is an opportunity for a developing lawyer to assume meaningful responsibility early in the lawyer’s career. The associate will work directly with experienced attorneys while also receiving substantial opportunities for client contact, case management, discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and trial preparation. Our goal is to help the successful candidate develop the judgment, practical skills, and professional relationships necessary for a long-term and successful practice. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

• Be admitted to practice law in Ohio and be in good standing; 
• Preferably have one to two years of legal experience; 
• Possess strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills; 
• Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail; 
• Be able to manage assignments and deadlines responsibly; and 
• Have an interest in becoming an active member of the firm and the Athens community. 

Civil litigation experience is preferred but is not required for a candidate with strong credentials, demonstrated initiative, and a genuine interest in litigation.
