Certified Veterinary Technician-Eye Care for Animals WheelingFull-time
No weekends

Eye Care for Animals, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team in Wheeling, IL. Practice hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm. No weekend hours. Some on-call will be required.

Our ideal candidate is someone who likes to work hard and strives to provide excellent customer service. Other qualifications include:
- Previous veterinary technician experience required. CVT required.
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM and SQ injections
- Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment
- Team player
- Eager to learn and self-motivated
- Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with a smile
Job Overview:
The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client processing database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $25 - $35 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
