Description
A Single Family Office is looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee the financial aspects of the Family Office’s investments and operations. This position will be responsible for all bookkeeping and basic accounting for the family office with oversight from outside accounting firms.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Gather documents to perform QuickBooks database maintenance, including monthly bank, broker, and credit card reconciliations.
- Handle all journal entries for multiple QuickBooks files.
- Perform bill paying and file maintenance services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Identify issues when paying bills; follow-through on money transfers as necessary; and research and resolve invoice issues.
- Compiling and analysis of monthly financial statements including balance sheets, P&L’s and cash flow reports.
- Reviewing the general ledger for the Family Office, performing month-end closings and consolidations, providing monthly and annual financial reporting and analysis, maintaining and tracking company assets.
- Maintain audit trails and proper paper and electronic records.
- Ongoing communication with the tax accounting firm in connection with various tax matters and the filing of the annual corporate federal and state tax returns. At year’s end, request and receive K-1 and/or 1099 for all entity investments, bank and brokerage statements.
- In conjunction with registered agents for each entity, ensure periodic state/federal/regulatory filings for every entity are executed.
- Assist with various executive and administrative duties as needed.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with financial, management, accounting and financial reporting skills. Experience working for family office is preferred though not required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or another related field preferred
- Must be highly proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
- Excellent Communication Skills, independent thinker, and can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple individuals and organizations and to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and “roll up your sleeves” levels. Comfortable working with and protecting highly confidential information
- Comfortable in non-office settings and in small business environments
