Nonprofit Attorney
Krokidas & Bluestein LLP, a mission-oriented law firm in Boston, is seeking an experienced nonprofit corporate attorney to join its nonprofit practice. The firm’s clients include nonprofit health and human services organizations, educational institutions, community development financial institutions, community development corporations, religious organizations, anti-poverty organizations, and other nonprofit and governmental entities. We are a full-service firm for our clients.
Qualified candidates will have between three (3) and seven (7) years of experience in nonprofit corporate matters. The firm may consider candidates with experience levels outside of this range. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with top-notch academic credentials, excellent writing skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to analyze and synthesize relevant facts and sources of law. Familiarity with laws applicable to governmental entities, such as Open Meeting Law and the State Conflict of Interest Law, is a plus.
The position will involve forming new organizations and applying for tax-exempt status; advising clients on their obligations as tax-exempt organizations and Massachusetts charities; facilitating mergers, corporate affiliations and other forms of restructuring; researching tax and other federal, state and local laws; preparing memos; and negotiating, reviewing, and drafting transactional documents.
The salary range for this position, which will be determined based on a candidate’s relevant experience and productivity, is $110,000 to $165,000.
