The Commercial Compost, Soil & Mulch Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing business relationships focused on commercial sales of STA-certified compost, mulch, topsoil, and engineered soil blends. This position works closely with landscape architects, landscape engineers, landscape maintenance companies, garden centers, contractors, and municipalities to specify and promote company materials for commercial landscaping and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with landscape architects, landscape engineers, landscape maintenance companies, garden centers, contractors, and municipalities. Promote and secure specifications for STA-certified compost and related products in commercial landscaping and construction projects. Identify upcoming bid opportunities and assist customers with product recommendations and technical information. Sell compost, mulch, topsoil, and engineered soil blends for commercial applications. Prepare quotes, proposals, and project pricing. Enter sales orders accurately into ERP software. Coordinate with operations and dispatch teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Conduct job site visits and customer meetings as needed. Maintain knowledge of compost, soil blends, mulch products, and applicable project specifications. Track sales activities, project pipelines, and customer interactions in ERP software. Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and networking functions.
Requirements
Qualifications
Previous B2B sales experience preferred, especially in landscaping, construction materials, environmental services, or horticulture. Experience working with landscape maintenance companies, garden centers, contractors, or commercial landscaping accounts preferred. Knowledge of compost, engineered soils, mulch, or landscape materials is a plus. Experience using NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting software preferred. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for meetings and job site visits.
Physical Requirements
Ability to visit outdoor job sites, landscaping projects, and customer locations. Occasional lifting of samples or materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to travel throughout the region as needed.

Preferred Experience
