Description
Position OverviewThe University of Kansas School of Business seeks a Student Recruiter to support undergraduate and transfer student recruitment and outreach. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment, this position plays a key role in engaging prospective students and their families, building relationships with high school and community college counselors, and supporting recruitment events and initiatives. The Student Recruiter will work closely with the recruitment team, faculty, staff, and campus partners to promote the School of Business and guide students through the college decision process. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for the University, the ability to work independently, and exceptional attention to detail.
This position is designated as hybrid, requiring both on-campus and off-campus work, with frequent travel throughout Kansas and the surrounding region to attend recruitment fairs, visit high schools and community colleges, and represent the School of Business at KU-sponsored events. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected.
This is a regular, full-time, benefits eligible, 12-month professional staff position. Job Description
40% Student Recruitment and Engagement
- Guide prospective students and families through the college decision process, providing information about KU and the value of a business education.
- Conduct individual and group visit sessions for prospective students and families.
- Deliver engaging presentations about the School of Business at KU.
- Represent the Business School at local, regional, and national recruitment fairs and events, as assigned.
- Assist in planning and executing on-campus visit programs and recruitment events, as directed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high school and community college counselors, business teachers, and other key influencers.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director to develop and maintain recruitment pipelines, including targeted outreach to key schools and districts.
- Serve as a liaison to area community colleges (e.g., Kansas City Kansas Community College, Metropolitan Community College, Johnson County Community College) to promote transfer pathways and academic opportunities.
- Participate in KU and School of Business recruitment events throughout the year.
- Contribute to team strategy discussions and recruitment planning.
- Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of summer outreach programs, including the redesign and implementation of initiatives such as the Summer Venture in Business.
- Coordinate logistics, communications, and student engagement for summer programs.
- Support tracking and reporting of program summer outcomes to inform future improvements.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry and reporting related to recruitment activities.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment.
- Participate as active member of School of Business staff, university and professional community, including attending staff and faculty meetings as needed.
- Serve on school and university wide committees as requested.
- Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Valid driver's license, by time of appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience working independently and collaboratively in a team environment, based on application materials
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, based on application materials.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based tools for communication and research.
