Job description:
A growing manufacturing company in the Clarksburg, WV area is seeking a Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations, new product and process implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position will work closely with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process and product issues, develop improvements, and support projects from planning through implementation. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor, particularly with machining and production processes.
Responsibilities:
Manage projects related to new products and new or improved manufacturing processes.
Communicate project status, roadblocks, and progress to appropriate team members.
Plan project tasks, establish deadlines, and coordinate resources to meet project objectives.
Identify, investigate, and resolve process and product problems.
Analyze manufacturing processes and develop and implement corrective actions and improvements.
Work directly with production personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing and machining-related issues.
Be hands-on in the manufacturing environment and work directly with equipment, processes, and production teams.
Develop and deploy process improvements to improve quality, efficiency, productivity, and cost.
Utilize CAD to develop, modify, and interpret drawings and other technical documentation.
Support machining-related processes, including tooling, fixtures, equipment, and process adjustments.
Interface with customers, vendors, and internal departments as needed.
Work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
Adapt to changing priorities and work independently to move projects and processes forward.
Travel may be required on a limited basis.
Qualifications:
Four-year degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
5+ years of mechanical/process engineering or equivalent experience preferred; entry-level candidates with strong applicable experience may be considered.
Hands-on experience with machining or machining processes is required.
CAD experience is required, with CAD certification strongly preferred/required.
Experience working directly in a manufacturing environment and with production equipment.
Experience with glass cutting, seaming, machining, screen printing, or similar manufacturing processes is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
Ability to prioritize and adapt in a controlled manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a cross-functional team.
Strong attention to detail and visual acuity required for the position.
Proficiency with CAD software.
Must be comfortable being a hands-on engineer and spending significant time on the manufacturing floor rather than working solely in an office environment.
