Position Summary
Masson & Associates is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager – Land Surveyor to lead and manage surveying projects across Southern California. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive surveying experience in California, possess strong leadership and technical skills, and be motivated to contribute to a collaborative and growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing field and office survey operations, preparing maps and boundary analyses, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, and providing quality control on all survey deliverables.

Requirements
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all phases of land surveying projects, from proposal to completion
Supervise field and office staff to ensure accurate data collection and efficient project execution
Prepare and review maps, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking
Perform boundary analysis, legal description preparation, and coordinate with engineering and planning teams
Ensure compliance with California Land Surveyors Act and other applicable laws and standards
Utilize CAD, GPS, and other surveying software and technology to produce high-quality deliverables
Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality control processes
Provide mentoring, training, and technical support to junior survey team members
Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal staff regarding project scope and progress
Qualifications
Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of California (required)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant surveying experience in California
Strong understanding of land surveying principles, boundary law, and mapping standards
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, and total station equipment
Experience with ALTA/NSPS, boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with Trimble Business Center is considered an asset
Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
