OverviewThe City of Ann Arbor has an extensive, highly rated parks system, which includes two 18-hole golf courses, Leslie Park and Huron Hills. The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation department is seeking an experienced, community-focused golf professional to join our team in leading our municipal golf courses. This role offers a collaborative, service driven work environment that reflects the Parks and Recreation department's commitment to teamwork, community pride, and high-quality recreation experiences. Experience Required
Required Education, Training and Experience:
- A successful candidate must have at a minimum, a bachelor's degree, at least two years of experience supervising others, and at least two years of recreation facility or program management.
- The City of Ann Arbor, at its discretion, may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience.
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Education, Training and Experience:
- Five years of experience supervising others, and at least five years of recreation facility or program management.
- Membership, with PGA, LPGA, or CMAA
Essential Responsibilities
Role Summary The Recreation Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the golf course and clubhouse. You will lead a collaborative team dedicated to keeping golf high-quality, affordable, and accessible. Your focus will be on:
- Leadership: Training, scheduling, and mentoring a diverse course staff.
- Programming: Managing golf instruction, leagues, and tournament operations.
- Business Operations: Overseeing food and beverage, merchandising, and budgeting.
- Community Engagement: Delivering exceptional customer service and promoting the mission of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation.
