Our Emergency & Critical Care Services (ECCS) Emergency, Critical Care Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit will be moving into a new 60,000 sq ft state-of-the art expansion of the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital summer 2026. This new space will be equipped with open floor plans, dedicated nursing workstations, state-of-the-art monitoring and support care equipment, and comfort focused patient & client care areas. We are very excited to expand these vital services to our small animal hospital.

Compensation: $19.10 - $28.00 per hour + shift differentials
Shift Differentials: We offer differential (7.5%-20% of your hourly rate) compensation which could be an additional $4,500-9,000/per year in addition to your salary.
What does the ECCS Team at the VTH look like?
- Client Care Team: We have 24-hour reception to handle administrative processes: client check-ins, calls, and payments. This allows our medical teams to focus on patient and client care.
- DVM Team: 6 ACVECC DVMs, 6 ECC Resident DVMs, 2 ER DVMs, and 12 rotating small animal interns, providing support to patients, clients, and team members 24/7.
- Technician & Support Team: RVTs/ PVTs / VAs
- Imaging & Diagnostics:24-hour support for imaging and laboratory diagnostics.

- Differential pay for day, night, evening shifts available 7 days a week (shift diff available: see below for details).
- Shift Differentials – additional compensation based on the shift days/hours you work:
- + 20% of your hourly rate for hours worked 4 pm on Friday – 6 am on Monday (for example, if your hourly rate was $25/hour, you’d receive an additional $5/hour)
- + 14% of your hourly rate for hours worked 11 pm – 6 am Monday-Thursday
- + 7.5% of your hourly rate for hours worked 4 pm-11 pm Monday-Thursday
