Job DescriptionGeneral Function
The Solutions Engineer demonstrates the practical and technical application of company products and services, delivering tailored solutions that meet customer needs in a rapid sales environment. The role researches customer requirements, presents value-driven demonstrations, and serves as a technical resource throughout the sales cycle. The individual in this role also supports internal teams, contributes to technical enablement, and communicates customer feedback for future product enhancements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver effective, high-volume product demonstrations tailored to customer requirements.
- Assess customer needs by collaborating with prospects, customers, and internal teams.
- Work closely with the Sales team to provide technical expertise and sales support for opportunities on a 90-day (or less) sales cycle.
- Maintain deep understanding of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies.
- Serve as a point of coordination for demo scheduling and pre-demo preparation.
- Provide product training during evaluations or pilot engagements.
- Document customer feedback and relay insights to Product Management.
- Support the creation, curation, and refresh of demo videos and demo environments, ensuring data cleanliness and functional readiness.
- Participate in RFP responses and address technical follow-up questions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve demo or environment-related issues.
- Assist with customer escalations as needed.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in technical sales, solution engineering, project management, product development, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting associations or nonprofit organizations is a major plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to learn and master new software quickly.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
Other Skills
- Strong communication (verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple, shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Customer-first mindset with excellent service orientation.
- Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to energize and collaborate with the broader team.
- Coachable, with a desire for continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment with extended periods of computer usage.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Essential Functions
- Frequent computer and desk work.
- Occasional walking, standing, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Regular communication through speaking, listening, and written channels.
- Standard office mobility and document handling tasks.
