The Senior Automation Analyst is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and supporting Warehouse Management and automation systems within the distribution center. This includes serving as a liaison between DC operations, WMS vendors, IT/Mainframe, and Application Development teams. The position ensures system reliability, strong integrations, and efficient troubleshooting across the supply chain technology stack.
Role Overview
This role leads the development, integration, and performance of systems supporting AutoStore, WMS/WES/WCS platforms, automation equipment, and related infrastructure. You will collaborate with DC leadership, IT, and vendor partners to optimize workflows, enhance system stability, and deliver high‑availability solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technology, Systems & Integration
- Implement, maintain, and enhance AutoStore and WMS/WES/WCS systems (Preferred: AutoStore, Exacta, Tompkins, Dematic).
- Ensure seamless integration with ERP, inventory systems, robotics, MHE, and related platforms.
- Serve as liaison between the DC, WMS vendors, IT/MIS, and MHE vendors for issue resolution and data handling.
- Manage and maintain WMS control tables, system configurations, user access, and SOX‑related reporting.
- Support automation and robotics troubleshooting using tools such as AutoStore Console and Unify Analytics.
Operations & Troubleshooting
- Perform deep root‑cause analysis using logs, database entries, API data, and operator actions.
- Triage real‑time issues, communicate clear status updates to Operations, and escalate to vendors as needed.
- Validate vendor recommendations using data and challenge assumptions when appropriate.
- Ensure system readiness, monitoring uptime and performance, and managing after‑hours, weekend releases, nightly updates, and critical on‑call support.
Hardware, Network & Infrastructure Support
- Manage peripheral devices including RF units, scanners, printers (Lexmark/Perceptive), thin clients, tablets, and workstations.
- Oversee repair requests, warranty coordination, and maintenance/cleaning schedules for devices.
- Support all data‑processing hardware including printers, terminals, and network‑connected equipment.
- Maintain LAN infrastructure including servers, circuits, network cabinets, UPS systems, and related documentation.
- Coordinate inventory of supplies (forms, ribbons, etc.) and track usage for MIS reporting.
- Manage data backup and recovery procedures and support software release deployments.
Testing, Validation & Documentation
- Conduct UAT, ORT, regression testing, and patch validation.
- Document defects, reproducible steps, configuration changes, and updates for internal and vendor use.
Data & Analytics
- Develop and maintain reporting tools using Cognos, Power BI, SQL, or Crystal Reports to provide visibility into WMS performance and operational metrics.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and schedule non‑exempt data‑processing support staff.
- Train and onboard team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous development.
- Provide timely feedback and conduct performance evaluations.
- Process Improvement & Optimization
- Identify recurring issues and drive long‑term solutions.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and lower costs.
- Partner with Operations to translate technical challenges into user‑friendly guidance.
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Distribution Center systems, including system development, configuration, implementation, and end‑user training.
- Minimum 1 years of hands-on expertise with AutoStore and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience, including team guidance, coaching, and supervisory responsibilities.
- Minimum 1 year of experience Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Access
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of networks and server environments, including basic troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $112,200.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
