The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a lecturer (full-time teaching faculty) to support the Industrial Engineering (IE) program.
Candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent degree in industrial engineering or a related field. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest and passion for teaching that fosters ingenuity, innovation, communication and leadership skills against the backdrop of rigorous engineering fundamentals. Candidates with background and interest in IE core topics like engineering economics, statistics, operations research, six sigma, lean, operations and workflow design, process improvement, supply chain, ergonomics and manufacturing processes, and project management are encouraged to apply.
In addition to core IE curriculum courses, the successful candidate can also play an important role in teaching general engineering fundamentals at the sophomore and freshman level as well as graduate level courses supporting IE Graduate Certificates and Masters / Doctor of Engineering and Technology Management (ETM) Degrees.
Full time teaching faculty are expected to serve on committees, advise students and student groups, and participate in curriculum development and accreditation efforts as part of a diverse, interdisciplinary and supportive community of learners. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to high quality university and professional service are expected. The College is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the overall excellence of the academic community and those with industry background or PE licensure.
