Description

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Temporary Service Technician in Richmond, Virginia. The Temporary Service Technician, under the direction of the senior technicians, is responsible for assisting with repairs to equipment. Seeking candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent; Completion of a Mechanical Votech program, preferred.

Requirements for the Temporary Service Technician position include:

• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software required in position; able to complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs performed. Must prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner.
• Able to read and understand operating manuals.
• Promote a positive customer experience.

Physical requirements must be met for the Temporary Serviced Technician job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
