Description
Requisition ID: 65199 Title: Test Technician I - Medical Devices Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $20.70/hr Salary Maximum: $37.25/hrThe Test Technician I Support the Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams in all aspects of product testing and verification testing of complex medical devices through the manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for electrical testing of Camera Control Units (CCU), Shaver Console Units (SCU), Electro Surgical Units (ESU), and Camera Heads (CH) by performing FCO (Final Checkout), FCL (Final Check List), and other automated or manual electrical tests.
- Test electronic components, sub-assemblies, and completed systems per test instructions and SOP.
- Test products using computer programs, Digital Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, light measurement equipment, waveform monitors, and other digital and analog electrical test equipment.
- Record test results into database applications. Review numerical and graphical data and make recommendations to improve process yields.
- Responsible for complying with medical device industry standards in Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Accurate documentation of test results in Device History Records (DHR). Capturing test non-conformances per Quality requirements.
- Responsible for accessing and following packaging and test work instructions from PLM and Document management systems based on product structure requirements.
- Perform a visual inspection of the product to ensure consistency of design specifications and meet functional criteria while using work instructions, Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) systems, drawings, forms, and inspection criteria as references.
- Manage tasks related to multiple production duties; prioritize and respond to special assigned duties.
- Participate in required company training activities related to products and processes supporting medical device manufacturing.
- May perform Preventive Maintenance of equipment within the department as required by PM Schedule.
- Performs daily cleaning of the work area and initiates "Area Clearance" to maintain material traceability at the workstation.
- Support the department with internal/external audits.
- Maintain and follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) work environment procedures.
- Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
Knowledge:
- Demonstrates limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.
Reasoning Ability:
- Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
Discretion/Latitude:
- Work is performed under very general supervision. Follows specific, detailed instructions.
- Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook) preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook) preferred.
- Basic visual inspection, part handling, component assembly, and barcode scanning knowledge are required.
- Essential ability to test products.
- Navigates SAP, Agile, and Documentum systems independently.
- Solving simple math equations and the ability to perform tasks through verbal communication.
- Adopt an environment of continuous improvement to develop more robust procedures and improvements within existing processes to produce cost-effective quality products.
- Good manual dexterity in assembling electro-mechanical assemblies.
Education/Experience:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in the medical device industry or similar is preferred.
- Experience working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment is preferred.
