About the Role
Tides is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Strategy, Evaluation and Impact team. As a key member of this four-person group, this role will serve as a problem-solving partner for staff across the organization, helping to make sense of data and brainstorm solutions.
The Senior Analyst will lead and enhance Tides’ data management, analysis, and evaluation capabilities to support strategic decision-making and organizational learning. The position is responsible for ensuring data integrity, reporting internal metrics, and leading cross-departmental initiatives that inform business operations and measure impact. This will include developing and monitoring operational metrics, managing and innovating analytical reports, leading in-house survey construction, iterating reporting dashboards, and building evaluation tools.
This role will partner across all levels and departments of the organization to support analytical, evaluation, and impact initiatives and help develop infrastructure to support in-house learning and evaluation capabilities.
What you will do
Data Management & Analysis
- Lead the team’s work to advance Tides’ data maturity, including ensuring data integrity, defining internal metrics, and developing sustainable data tracking and monitoring processes
- Manage and monitor operational, financial, and other client data across various systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.) and external systems (e.g. Candid).
- Manage regular reporting to staff, including the executive team and board, internal service teams, and partner-facing teams by collecting internal process, operational, and client service delivery metrics.
- Create and maintain dashboards to allow staff and organizational leadership, to track meaningful data over time.
- Analyze and visualize data using multiple methodologies, including triangulating data across different sources, to tell meaningful stories.
- Support developing a variety of surveying, interviewing, and other information gathering tools to gain feedback from internal and external stakeholders
Learning, Evaluation, and Strategy
- Lead Tides’ impact evaluation workstream to help Tides better understand its own impact and that of partners, including utilizing rigorous mixed-methods approaches, field-best practices, and JEDI-infused methods. This includes developing a potential fee-for-service model for both Tides Foundation and Tides Center partners.
- Use data and insights to make clear and strategic recommendations and utilize effective change management to advocate for these recommendations to be implemented across stakeholder groups
- Support strategy conversations at Tides to ensure that critical questions are being asked and answered to advance Tides’ strategy. This work may be heavier during years where Tides’ is developing a new strategic plan or refreshing strategy. This may also include providing strategic input into Tides’ transformational priorities.
- Engage in facilitation, both internally and cross-team, to ensure important conversations and decisions are steeped in meaningful data and insights. This includes being able to facilitate Tides’ leaders and complex dynamics.
Administrative & Communication
- Skillful and proactive project management, including creating shared project workplans when appropriate, to ensure that projects have clear decision-making frameworks, timelines, and budgets (if relevant).
- Support internal communications to encourage a data-guided culture, shared understanding of SEI programming and outcomes, and trust in data across Tides

What you will Bring
Data & Analysis
- Ability to synthesize and analyze information rapidly and to develop persuasive arguments based on quantitative and qualitative data.
- Demonstrated innovation in analytical reporting, data management, visualization including advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, slicers, dashboards) to analyze and communicate data
- Experience in Salesforce, Asana, Qualtrics, NetSuite, Candid or similar platforms
- Ability to synthesize and analyze information rapidly and to develop persuasive arguments based on quantitative and qualitative data
- Experience with data collection – such as designing and implementing surveys, facilitating interviews, facilitating focus groups
- Skilled at data analysis, reporting and visualizing data, and communicating data clearly to external stakeholders

Ideal Education & Work Experience
- 6 years of progressive or direct experience and relevant bachelor’s degree or 8 years of applicable experience in data analysis, evaluation, learning, innovation, design or similar fields.
- Demonstrated expertise managing, analyzing, and presenting data in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PPT) including the development of visual dashboards.
- Demonstrated expertise using Salesforce.
- Experience using Qualtrics, NetSuite, and Candid’s demographic database, preferred.
- Professional experience in an advocacy, philanthropic or grassroots organization, preferred.
- Experience analyzing financial data and/or modelling data, a plus.
