We’re looking for a Lead Surgical Anesthesia Technician / Surgery Department Supervisor who wants to lead from the floor, mentor great technicians, and help build a surgical service that runs with precision, safety, and pride. 

This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys both excellent anesthesia and helping other technicians become excellent. 

Requirements

What You’ll Do 

This is a working leadership role, not an office job. 

You will: 

• Lead and mentor the surgical nursing team
• Manage surgical workflow and case coordination 
  
• Serve as the department’s anesthesia expert for complex surgical cases 
  
• Assist surgeons during procedures and recovery 
  
• Train technicians in anesthesia monitoring, sterile technique, and surgical nursing 
  
• Maintain high standards for patient safety, anesthesia documentation, and surgical asepsis 
  
• Help improve surgical systems, protocols, and technician training as the department grows 

Qualifications 

Required  

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT / RVT / CVT) 
3–5+ years experience in: 

• Aeterinary surgery 
  
• Anesthesia 
  
• Specialty practice

Demonstrated strength in: 

• Anesthesia monitoring and anesthetic planning 
  
• Mentoring or training technicians 
  
• Clinical decision-making during complex cases 
  
• Clear and professional communication 

Preferred 

• VTS (Anesthesia, Surgery, or ECC) or pursuing
• Experience with advanced imaging (CT / MRI / fluoroscopy) 
  
• Interest in teaching and building department systems
