This position is responsible for the safety and support required by youth and other residential support staff. 

What you will be doing to make a difference….

  • Supervise direct care staff
  • Assist Program Director in hiring
  • Conduct or assist in training and evaluating staff
  • Maintains safety and security of youth at all times
  • Provides support and leadership, especially in crisis situations
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with staff members
  • Implement and supervise appropriate activities for youth
  • Ensure that the environment is safe, clean and secure
  • Organizes schedule of activities and ensures that milieu activities are carried out by staff
  • Ensures that the program’s rules, policies and licensing requirements are adhered to
  • Manages emergencies and ensures clients and staff’s safety

Requirements

Credentials/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services field or related field preferred

• 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred

• Residential experience required

• Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred

• Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques
