Description
Senior AV / Smart Home Integration Technician
**Futurian Systems LTD | Dallas–Fort Worth, TX | Full-Time | Extensive Colorado Travel**
Build Exceptional Technology Experiences
At Futurian Systems, we design and integrate sophisticated technology environments for luxury residences, hospitality properties, and commercial clients throughout North Texas and Colorado.
Our projects bring together premium audio/video systems, intelligent automation, enterprise-grade networking, architectural lighting control, motorized shading, security, and integrated control technologies.
We are seeking an experienced Senior AV / Smart Home Integration Technician who takes pride in technical excellence, independent problem-solving, and delivering exceptional results.
This is not an entry-level installation position. We are looking for a capable professional who understands how complex systems work together and can confidently take a project from installation through commissioning and final client acceptance.
What You'll Do
As a senior member of our technical team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting sophisticated integrated technology systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Install and commission residential and commercial AV, automation, and networking systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot IP networks, managed switches, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, and connected devices.
- Integrate smart home control platforms, distributed audio, video distribution, lighting control, motorized shades, surveillance, and access control systems.
- Diagnose complex technical issues through systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Independently resolve field issues using diagnostic tools, technical documentation, and manufacturer support resources.
- Interpret system drawings, equipment schedules, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, performance verification, and quality-control inspections.
- Maintain accurate configuration records, service documentation, and project completion reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other trades to ensure successful project execution.
- Communicate professionally with clients and provide a polished, high-quality service experience.
Technology You'll Work With
Our projects involve a broad range of professional AV, automation, networking, and integrated technology platforms.
Experience with some of the following is particularly valuable:
Automation & Control: Control4, Crestron, Savant, Lutron, URC, Josh.ai, and comparable platforms.
Networking: Ruckus, Ubiquiti UniFi, Araknis, managed switches, wireless networking, and IP infrastructure.
Audio & Video: Distributed audio, home theaters, video distribution, AV-over-IP, equipment racks, and integrated entertainment systems.
Security & Building Technology: IP surveillance, access control, lighting systems, and motorized shading.
You do not need experience with every manufacturer. We place greater value on strong technical fundamentals, diagnostic ability, and the capacity to learn new platforms independently.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
Challenging, High-End Projects
Work on sophisticated residential, hospitality, and commercial environments where technology, architecture, and design intersect.
Technical Ownership
We value professionals who can think independently, investigate problems, make sound technical decisions, and take responsibility for successful outcomes.
Variety and Professional Development
Gain exposure to diverse systems, emerging technologies, and complex integration challenges across multiple markets.
Texas and Colorado
Our operations span North Texas and Colorado's premier mountain communities, including Vail, Beaver Creek, and Aspen.
This position is based primarily in the Dallas–Fort Worth area but requires substantial travel to Colorado. Depending on project schedules, Colorado assignments may represent approximately 50–80% of working time, including extended deployments.
Candidates should carefully consider this travel requirement before applying.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is technically capable, self-motivated, organized, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of challenging projects.
You understand that successful integration requires more than connecting equipment. It requires understanding system architecture, network communications, control logic, signal flow, and the relationships between multiple technologies.
You know how to investigate a problem, identify its root cause, use available technical resources, and deliver a lasting solution.
Above all, you take pride in your workmanship, communicate clearly, and understand the expectations associated with working in luxury residential and professional commercial environments.
