Helix Water District is a progressive industry leader, providing high-quality water, through an efficient and reliable system. our innovative and dedicated employees and board members maximize human and technological resources while providing superior service to our customer and supporting the environment for a sustainable future.
Our board of directors, executive team and 150+ employees are dedicated to providing customers with a safe and reliable water supply through 56,500 connections. Our 50-square-mile service are begins eight miles east of downtown San Diego and includes the cities of La Mesa, Lemon Grove and El Cajon, and areas of Spring Valley, Santee, Lakeside and unincorporated San Diego County.
Company History
We were formed by residents over 100 years ago to bring water to San Diego's east county communities. Today, we treat water for much of east county and distribute water to the 278,000 people in our service area. We provide water for homes, schools, jobs, and for firefighting.
We are a special purpose district that was organized in 1913 and exists pursuant to Irrigation District Law. We are governed by a Board elected from their communities and are held to a high standard of transparency and accountability. You can learn more about our history at www.hwd.com/31/about-us.

- Paid Time Off accrual starting at 24 days per year, increases to 29 days per year after 5 years of service and after. Max 37 days per year
