Experienced Criminal Defense Attorney — Lafayette and North-Central Indiana

$160,000 Base Salary Plus Regional Revenue Sharing

Gibson Law is seeking an experienced Indiana criminal attorney for our Lafayette and North-Central Indiana practice.

We are looking for a prosecutor, public defender, or criminal defense attorney who wants meaningful defense work, strong income potential, substantial flexibility, and greater control over when and where they work.

The position includes:

- $160,000 base salary
- Regional revenue sharing in addition to the base salary
- Additional performance and growth opportunities
- No requirement to bring clients or an existing book of business

A Concentrated Regional Practice

Tippecanoe County is the center of the position and will account for the largest share of the work.

The Lafayette regional practice most commonly includes:

- Tippecanoe County
- Clinton County
- Carroll County
- White County
- Benton County
- Fountain County
- Warren County

Personalized Regional Revenue Share

The attorney will have a defined Regional Growth Territory generally consisting of:

- The Indiana county where the attorney lives; and
- The counties contiguous to the attorney’s home county.

The attorney will receive additional compensation based on Gibson Law revenue generated from cases within that territory. The specific revenue-sharing formula and territory will be established in writing based on the attorney’s residence, experience, and regional opportunity.

What the Workweek Could Look Like

Primary responsibility for Gibson Law criminal matters in Tippecanoe County and surrounding North-Central Indiana counties

•         Court appearances generally 2–4 days per week (most often 3 days)
•         Court is typically concentrated into one- to two-hour morning or afternoon hearing blocks
•         When court is finished, the remainder of the workday can be worked remotely
•         No required office time
•         No billable-hour requirement
•         No requirement to bring clients or an existing book of business
•         Mileage reimbursement for required travel outside Tippecanoe County

The exact court schedule varies based on caseload and court calendars. A day with a court appearance generally does not mean spending the entire day in court or at the office.

This structure allows the attorney to benefit financially from helping Gibson Law expand in the communities closest to where the attorney already lives and works.

Requirements

• Active Indiana law license in good standing
• Criminal-law experience required
• Current or former prosecutors, public defenders, and criminal defense attorneys are strongly encouraged to apply
• Strong client communication skills
• Professional courtroom presence and sound judgment
• Ability to manage cases independently and stay organized
• Comfortable appearing regularly in Tippecanoe County and surrounding North-Central Indiana courts
• Willingness to use modern case-management technology and established firm workflows
