Associate Attorney
Trusts and Estates Law Practice has an opening for a Full-Time Associate Attorney. We are looking for a self-motivated and ambitious attorney to join our firm. This position will focus on matters related to Estate Planning and Administration, Conservatorships, Special Needs Trusts, and Public Benefits Planning. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with estate planning and administration, can work autonomously, and is seeking an integral role with opportunities to grow with the firm.
Primary Responsibilities:
Communicate with clients to identify legal needs and concerns
Independently manage court-supervised trust and estate matters from start to finish, including preparing petitions and making court appearances
Advise clients on public benefits planning
Draft comprehensive estate plans, including Revocable Living Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, and property transfer documents
Participate in business social activities and presentations that generate new clients and professional relationships
Perform various administrative functions related to case management
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed to practice in California; good standing with the State Bar
Demonstrated client relationship skills including the ability to lead inperson client meetings
Ability to conduct legal research, analyze case law, and stay uptodate with changing laws
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Typing proficiency of 50+ wpm
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Strong work ethic
Highly desirable skills and experience that will set you apart from other applicants:
Experience with Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, Special Needs Trusts, Public Benefits Planning, and Conservatorships
Experience with AbacusLaw software
Experience with Lawgic software
Experience with WordPerfect software
