About the Role
Hite, Fanning is looking for an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join our medical malpractice team. We’re looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running; conducting witness interviews, finding experts, attending depositions. This is a high-collaboration role for someone who takes pride in getting the details right. You’ll work closely with partners, other associates, and support staff.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Work with partners to advise clients on legal rights, options, and strategies.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Future scope: Manage litigation files from inception through resolution.
- Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in medical malpractice or civil litigation
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring, detail-heavy work without dropping threads
- Comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Clear written communication — you’ll be coordinating & communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Self-starter who looks for ways to improve a process rather than just running it
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Kansas bar and in good standing
- This position is an in-person position in Wichita, KS working Monday - Friday
