Description

We are a small, Houston-based civil defense law firm located in Northwest Houston with a growing docket. We handle an assortment of matters ranging from non-medical professional malpractice defense, premises liability defense, to dram shop defense. The cases are often multi-party and complex. Work includes ample opportunities for court time (hearings and trial) and depositions. It is a great place to gain valuable experience working directly with the owner of the firm.

Responsibilities: 

Work under the supervision of Senior attorney at the firm

Prepare and draft legal documents including drafting and responding to discovery

Support casework with research and file preparation & maintenance

Attend, take and defend depositions

Prepare correspondence for clients and other legal counsel

Attend court hearings, mediations and trials

Requirements

Attorney license in Texas

2-3 years litigation experience

Strong organizational and case management skills

Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills

Experience with legal writing and research

Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
