We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing workers' compensation claims, providing expert legal counsel, and advocating for clients involved in workplace injury cases. Requirements
Manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution, including investigation, negotiation, and litigation when necessary
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and insurance carriers
Advocate for clients during hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes
Collaborate with medical professionals, employers, and other stakeholders to gather evidence and build strong cases
Maintain detailed case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements
Stay informed about changes in workers' compensation law as well as related areas such as personal injury law and employment regulations
Skills
2-5 years knowledge of workers' compensation law and related legal areas such as personal injury law, employment law, and litigation procedures
Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms
Excellent legal drafting and writing skills for preparing pleadings, reports, and correspondence
Proven negotiation abilities to facilitate settlements effectively while protecting client interests
Experience with legal administrative processes including case management systems and document organization
Ability to analyze complex legal issues quickly and develop strategic solutions
Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, courts, insurance companies, medical providers, and colleagues
