Finley Law Group is seeking a motivated Associate Bankruptcy Attorney to join our growing consumer bankruptcy practice serving the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about helping individuals navigate financial hardship and is looking to build a longterm career in consumer bankruptcy.
About the Role
The Associate Attorney will support our Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 practice, working closely with clients from initial consultation through case completion. The ideal candidate has bankruptcy experience; however, we are willing to train a promising attorney who demonstrates strong interest in consumer bankruptcy and a commitment to client-centered representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters
- Attend 341(a) Meetings of Creditors, confirmation hearings, and other court hearings in the Middle District of Florida
- Conduct client consultations and maintain ongoing communication throughout the case
- Draft and review bankruptcy petitions, schedules, plans, motions, and other pleadings
- Analyze financial documents and develop strategic recommendations for clients
- Provide clear, empathetic guidance to clients navigating financial distress
- Collaborate with staff to ensure timely and accurate case progression
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida Bar License
- Admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain organized case files
- Professionalism, empathy, and a clientfocused mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in consumer bankruptcy (Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 13)
- Familiarity with bankruptcy software and electronic filing systems
- Courtroom experience or comfort appearing before judges and trustees
