- Education Contractor
Description
The Education Contractor will provide project-based administrative and operational support for education programs and initiatives. The engagement is expected to require up to 600 hours through March 2027 (approximately 20-25 hours per week). The contractor will determine the method and scheduling of work necessary to complete assigned deliverables while coordinating with designated NENA staff on project priorities and deadlines. NENA reserves the right to modify the scope of work, contract term, or hours based on organizational needs and funding availability.
Position Responsibilities:
- Compile course evaluations into a dashboard for the VP of Education.
- Review and evaluate current processes related to insurance documentation, state registrations, business licenses, annual reporting, and state course approvals.
- Establish a centralized system for tracking requirements, deadlines, documentation, and approvals.
- Complete required compliance-related submissions during the contract term.
- Deliver documented procedures, timelines, templates, and recommendations to support ongoing management of education compliance activities.
- Build and maintain courses within the Learning Management System (LMS) based on approved specifications.
- Process Excellence in Dispatch (EID) and Excellence in Leadership (EIL) certificate requests, including verification, database updates, certificate creation, and distribution.
- Update member records to reflect earned certificates (EID and EIL).
- Implement approved course updates and maintain LMS content in accordance with established project priorities.
- Coordinate webinar logistics, including scheduling, speaker communications, and post-event reporting.
- Deliver administrative and operational services for education programs and initiatives.
Requirements
Contractor Qualifications:
- Experience providing administrative or program support for associations, nonprofits, educational organizations, or training programs.
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS).
- Experience coordinating webinars, training events, or certification programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and virtual meeting platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Preferred Competencies:
- Program Administration
- Oral Communication Skills
- Communication platforms, like Zoom and MS Teams
- Modern web browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
- LMS platforms
- Knowledge of AMS Systems (e.g., Your Membership)
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe
Contractor Success Factors:
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Professional communication with members, instructors, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of member and organizational information.
- Experience working in remote and project-based environments.
Independent Contractor Status:
This role is engaged as an independent contractor and is not an employee of NENA. The contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, licenses, and business expenses unless otherwise specified in a written agreement. The contractor retains discretion regarding the manner and means of performing services.
