Estate Planning and Probate Associate Attorney
Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. is seeking an associate attorney to join its thriving Trusts and Estates practice. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in estate planning and probate/trust administration, developed research and writing skills, superior academic credentials, and the ability to work closely with multiple attorneys and staff.
Location: Seattle, WA
Desired Experience/Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have at least six years of applicable experience, hold an LL.M. in Taxation, and be licensed to practice in the State of Washington.
Responsibilities
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal instruments.
- Handle probate administration, including preparing estate pleadings, identifying assets and liabilities, and communicating with heirs, creditors, and state agencies.
- Educate clients on estate planning matters.
- Advise clients on the tax implications of estate planning and lifetime gifting strategies.
- Explain estate tax considerations and planning techniques to minimize tax exposure.
- Model the practical and financial implications of various estate planning strategies.
- Prepare and review federal gift tax returns and federal and state estate tax returns.
- Draft sophisticated trust instruments, including GRATs, SLATs, QPRTs, CLATs/CLUTs, and generation-skipping transfer tax exempt trusts.
- Research and analyze complex legal issues.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with prospective and existing clients.

Compensation
Base Salary: $145,000 - $175,000 annually
Additional compensation includes:
- Annual discretionary profit-sharing contribution
- Non-discretionary bonus opportunities
- Additional discretionary bonus consideration
