Executive Director role with 0.7 FTE Clinical, 0.3 FTE Administrative | Providence Clinical Network | Seattle, WA | The compensation range for this position is $308,362-$331,232 annually
Position Overview:
Providence is seeking an accomplished, visionary physician executive to serve as Executive Medical Director - Value‑Based Care for the Community Care Alliance with Providence (CCAP). This senior leadership role provides strategic, clinical and operational guidance to a growing, mission-driven network dedicated to advancing population health, strengthening provider partnerships and delivering exceptional value-based performance.
The Executive Medical Director - Value‑Based Care is a key architect of CCAP's strategy — aligning physicians, payors and health system leaders with a shared vision for high-quality, patient-centered, cost-effective care.
This Executive position will serve as the clinical leader for the network, ensuring objectives are clearly defined, aligned with Providence's mission and values and achieved within appropriate business, legal and regulatory frameworks. This role requires a collaborative, influential leader who thrives at the intersection of clinical excellence, network strategy and value-based care innovation.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for CCAP while ensuring high standards of quality, safety and patient care
- Partner with executive leadership and the CCAP Board to identify, develop and achieve network objectives
- Support the design and implementation of clinical strategies, care models and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure clinical operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards and ethical guidelines
- Promote collaboration and alignment across physicians, practices and health system partners
- Represent clinical leadership in governance, planning and stakeholder discussions
- Drive CCAP network expansion and collaboration by developing and sharing performance data, participating as a clinical subject matter expert in development of clinical pathways and supporting objective and goal alignment
- Support payor partnerships and serve as the primary point of contact for payor CMOs and medical leadership in support of strategic alignment activities
- Maintain an active clinical practice (0.7 FTE) while fulfilling administrative leadership responsibilities (0.3 FTE)
Chair & Strategy Leader Responsibilities:
- Engage the CCAP Board and CCAP Network Management in developing the mission and vision of the network, balancing the needs and interests of network members with the realities of the market
- Ensure strategies, tactics and monitoring activities are in place to realize the network's mission and vision
- Align board engagements with achieving stated objectives. Strive to engage all board members in discussions and decision-making processes as outlined in the Operating Agreement and challenge board members to address all sides of an issue
- Assist management in the preparation of the board meeting agenda to ensure strategic and operational needs of the network are adequately addressed
- Provide insight to board subcommittees and attend committee meetings, as appropriate

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with an active, unrestricted license
- Board certification in a clinical specialty
- Significant experience (5+ years) practicing medicine, with credibility among physicians and clinical leaders
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a clinically integrated network, ACO, health system or value-based care environment
- Deep understanding of population health, clinical integration and value-based care models
- Proven ability to lead or chair boards, committees or governance bodies
- Skill in facilitating complex discussions, balancing diverse viewpoints and driving consensus.
- Ability to work effectively with executive leadership, hospital administration, and physician groups.
