Description
McBride Legal Group, P.A. is seeking an experienced Florida-licensed litigation attorney to join our growing family law practice in Stuart, Florida.
We are looking for an attorney who is confident in the courtroom, capable of independently managing an active caseload, and comfortable handling matters from initial strategy through resolution or trial.
Our practice focuses on complex and contested family law matters, including dissolution of marriage, parental responsibility and timesharing, relocation, modifications, enforcement, paternity, and related litigation.
The ideal candidate has meaningful litigation experience and strong judgment, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Prior family law experience is strongly preferred; however, we will consider experienced litigators from other practice areas, particularly former prosecutors, public defenders, and attorneys with substantial courtroom experience.
This is an opportunity for an experienced attorney to join an established and growing practice with significant litigation volume, experienced support staff, modern legal technology, and the resources necessary to effectively represent clients.
What You Will Do
Independently manage contested cases and client relationships
Develop case strategy and provide practical legal advice
Draft and argue substantive motions
Conduct and defend depositions
Handle discovery and evidentiary issues
Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation
Prepare for and conduct evidentiary hearings and trials
Work collaboratively with experienced paralegals and firm leadership
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar
Minimum 5-7 years of experience practicing law
Significant litigation and courtroom experience
Ability to independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution
Experience handling evidentiary hearings, depositions, mediations, and/or trials
Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
Excellent professional judgment, organization, and client communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Florida family law experience
Substantial first-chair hearing and/or trial experience
Experience taking and defending depositions
Experience handling complex or high-conflict litigation
Former prosecutor or public defender experience is highly valued
