About This Opportunity

Emkat Staffing & Recruiting is placing candidates on behalf of a confidential client — a well-established advanced photonics and technology manufacturer located in Billerica, MA. The facility specializes in the design and manufacturing of advanced photonic products based on MEMS and micro-scale optical devices for industrial, medical, and defense applications.

We are urgently seeking an experienced High Voltage Power Test Technician to join our client's production team. This is a key role responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating high voltage power supplies used in applications such as luggage/cargo detection and screening, aesthetic lasers, material curing, 3D printing, and a variety of other industrial and medical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Select, set up test equipment, and conduct tests required for production testing per work instructions.
Use oscilloscopes and product-specific equipment to perform compliance testing and burn-in conditioning of high voltage power supplies.
Troubleshoot product and equipment issues under the direction of senior-level test technicians and engineers.
Test and evaluate customer returned merchandise; work with engineering to recommend corrective measures and assist in generating failure analysis reports.
Make preliminary routine evaluations and advise engineering of test findings and quality concerns; suggest improvements to test procedures.
Prepare and record test data to aid engineering in completing or evaluating products.
Meet daily throughput requirements depending on product complexity.

Requirements

Associate's Degree or specialized training in Electronics required.
5+ years of electrical testing experience or equivalent training.
Awareness and comfort working with voltage levels from 1KV to 180KV.
Working knowledge of high voltage power supplies.
Ability to clearly read and interpret work instructions.
Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Windows / MS Office.
Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Ability to stand and work for at least 8 hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Ability to adhere to gowning requirements: lab jacket, EH safety shoes, safety glasses.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour, depending on experience.
