Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Kennel Technician to join our veterinary team. The Kennel Technician provides basic animal care, maintains cleanliness throughout the facility, and assists the medical staff with handling and monitoring pets.Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and monitor boarding and hospitalized animals
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, exam rooms, and treatment areas
- Walk dogs and provide exercise and enrichment activities
- Observe animal behavior and report concerns to veterinary staff
- Restrain animals safely for examinations or treatments when needed
- Launder bedding, towels, and clinic linens
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and animal care supplies
- Assist with bathing and basic grooming tasks
- Ensure all animals are comfortable, safe, and receiving proper care
- Follow sanitation, safety, and infection-control protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with animals is a plus
- Ability to handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Compassionate, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required
