Description
Westarbor Animal Hospital is looking for a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our experienced and supportive team.
We are an AAHA-accredited, privately owned veterinary hospital in Ann Arbor providing high-quality general medicine, surgery, advanced dentistry, diagnostics, and preventive care. We believe excellent patient care starts with a team that feels respected, supported, and valued.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an LVT who is:
Compassionate and committed to excellent patient care
Dependable, honest, and professional
Comfortable using all their technical skills and willing to continue learning
A strong communicator with both clients and coworkers
Able to work as part of a team and jump in when someone needs help
Willing to contribute to all parts of hospital life, from advanced patient care to cleaning, stocking, and helping the team get through a busy day
Positive and respectful, with a desire to contribute to a healthy workplace culture
Put Your LVT Skills to Work
Depending on experience and comfort level, our LVTs are involved in:
Patient assessment and nursing care
Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
In-house laboratory testing
Digital radiology
Anesthesia and surgical monitoring
Dentistry and dental radiographs
Medication administration and fluid therapy
Hospitalized patient care
Client education and discharge instructions
Preventive and wellness care
Supporting our veterinarians with efficient case management
We want our technicians to use the skills they went to school for and continue developing professionally.
What You WON'T Find Here
A corporate environment. Westarbor is privately owned, which allows us to make decisions based on what is best for our patients, clients, team, and hospital.
A culture where negativity and workplace drama are accepted as "just part of veterinary medicine." We value honest, direct communication and expect everyone—from management to our newest team member—to treat one another with professionalism and respect.
LVTs being used simply as veterinary assistants. Our licensed technicians are important members of the medical team. We want you using your education, license, technical skills, and clinical judgment—not spending your career wondering why you went to technician school.
That doesn't mean anyone is above helping with cleaning, stocking, laundry, or whatever else needs to be done. We all pitch in. It means we recognize the difference between an LVT and a veterinary assistant and want our technicians working at the highest appropriate level of their training and abilities.
Why Westarbor?
At Westarbor, we work hard to provide an environment where team members are treated with respect, management is approachable, coworkers help one another, and employees can feel good about the medicine and patient care they provide.
We're not looking for someone who simply wants another veterinary job. We're looking for someone who wants to become part of our team.
If you are an LVT who values great patient care, teamwork, kindness, professionalism, and a workplace where people genuinely want to help one another, we would love to meet you.
