Position Summary
We are seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to represent Texas public school districts in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Working closely with the firm's partners, you will manage cases from intake through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediation, and trial. This is a full time position based in our Mansfield office, with regular travel to client districts and courts across Texas. The firm has a hybrid office environment with three days in the office and two days working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Represent school districts in litigation involving employment, civil rights, constitutional claims, contracts, and tort matters in Texas state and federal courts;
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements;
Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and argue motions and hearings;
Conduct legal research on education law, governmental immunity, and related state and federal issues;
Advise district administrators on litigation risk, document preservation, and strategy;
Communicate case status clearly and promptly to insurance representatives and designated school district personnel; and
Track time accurately and maintain case files.

Requirements
Qualifications Required
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
3 to 5 years of litigation experience, including substantive discovery and motion practice
Strong legal research and writing skills
Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel to client districts and courts statewide
Preferred
Experience in education law, public sector, governmental entity, or employment litigation
Admission to practice in one or more U.S. District Courts in Texas
First chair or second chair trial or hearing experience
