Litigation - Attorney - Labor and Employment
Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking an experienced Employment & Labor Attorney to join its St. Louis office. The ideal candidate will have experience with a broad range of employment and labor matters related to advising and representing private and public employers. Candidates should have experience developing policies and procedures, conducting workplace investigations, advising on non-compete and trade secret matters, drafting employment-related documents including, but not limited to, employment agreements and restrictive covenant agreements, and experience with administrative charges and litigation of employment discrimination, wage and hour, and restrictive covenant cases.

- Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusion
- Possesses strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills for communicating with attorneys and clients
- Demonstrates an ability to work independently and productively and show a strong interest in advancing a career in litigation
- Produces quality legal work and bills the required amounts of hours to ensure excellent client services
- Manages business and assists in the generation of business through group and individual efforts
- Complies with the very highest ethical standards of the legal profession
Required Education: Juris Doctor
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Missouri; must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements
Preferred Experience: 3+ years’ experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm. Candidates who have experience representing and counseling public and private employers on a broad range of employment and labor matters. It is a plus if candidates have (or are interested in developing) experience with a broad range of traditional labor matters, such as representing and counseling employers in collective bargaining negotiation, union elections, strikes, picketing, campaigns, unfair labor practice cases before the NLRB, and other conflicts between management and labor unions.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Indirect - actively utilizes support staff or junior associates to ensure client satisfaction
Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit (or utilize a standing desk) for prolonged periods and work on a computer
Travel Required: Generally, less than 10%, however, this will be case specific and may, at times, involve more travel.

Salary Range: Ranges are fluid depending on experience, areas of expertise, licenses, etc.
