Description
We are seeking a Campaign Finance Manager who is passionate about racial and social justice!
The Campaign Finance Manager is responsible for implementing fundraising, prospecting and donor management strategy for New Southern Majority, a federal independent expenditure committee (IE) and New Southern Leaders a non-connected federal political action committee (PAC). The Campaign Finance Manager will also help implement strategy to secure major funders to support the SPLC Action Fund's primary and non-primary purpose activities. All activities conducted under this position will be performed exclusively for the SPLC Action Fund, New Southern Majority or New Southern Leaders.
In collaboration with the General Counsel, they will ensure that this staff and others who are involved in political fundraising are complying with local, state, and federal campaign finance laws and are properly recording their time so that it can be accurately expensed to the correct entity.
Although SPLC is the employer of record for this position, all work will be performed for and paid for by the SPLC Action Fund, New Southern Majority IE and New Southern Leaders PAC. SPLC does not engage in political activity.

What You'll Do
Responsible for implementing an annual and multi-year fundraising strategy devised in collaboration with the Chief of Development and Director of Development and in consultation with Action Fund Executive Director.
Manage fundraiser(s) and interns providing mentoring and coaching to support the work including, hiring, training, establishing and monitoring staff performance and development goals, assigning duties, and conducting performance reviews.
Identify and research prospective donors, building relationships with mid, major, and high-net-worth individuals, PAC donors and corporate sponsors.
Manage and coordinate fundraising efforts, including events (in-person and virtual), digital campaigns, donor outreach, and high-dollar donor cultivation throughout the year to supporters about AF, PAC, and IE initiatives. This role will also manage their own portfolio of funders.
Supervise and/or develop a steady stream of tailored, personalized communications and interactions (face-to-face, virtual, email, mail, phone, events, budget-gap documents, proposals, etc.); and manage stewardship and gift acknowledgements for the PAC and IE.
Prepare regular reports on fundraising performance, analyzes trends and recommends strategies to optimize donor engagement and contributions; maintains accurate and timely record of moves and actions in database, ensuring collection of donor information as required.
With support from inside and outside counsel, serves as an in-house expert on the fundraising rules and regulations across the AF, PAC, and IE, ensuring that team members and other staff involved in political fundraising are following local, state, and federal campaign finance laws, and that direct reports are accurately and timely recording their time.
Collaborate with general counsel office and outside counsel to file timely campaign finance reports and meet all deadlines and requirements for local, state, and federal jurisdictions in which AF, PAC, and IE operate.
Liaise with the political department to digest and present work in a compelling fashion, finding appropriate matches between goals and funders’ priorities.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
Minimum Qualifications

- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in political fundraising experience, such as candidate campaigns, 501(c)(4) organizations, political parties, and 527 entities;
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience; and
- High School Diploma or GED.
Compensation & Benefits
This is an exempt role, and the minimum starting salary is $129,129 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Where & How You'll Work
This role has the following work designations options:
Local Remote: Will work remotely but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
Telework: Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
This position will report to the Director of Development.
Other Special Considerations
This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
