Currahee Club, located in Toccoa, GA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Mechanic! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.Position Overview
Performs major and mechanical repairs on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment; keeps all equipment in efficient and operable condition at all times. Organizes and maintains a clean and safe area and maintenance area; performs related tasks as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain golf course equipment including reel mowers, rotary mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt inspections, and adjustments.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Sharpen and grind reels, mower blades, and bed knives.
- Set and maintain proper Height of Cut (HOC) on all mowing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work environment.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair cost records for each piece of equipment.
- Manage parts inventory and operate within budget guidelines.
- Ensure all equipment meets required safety standards
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials including oils, batteries, and tires
Additional Duties:
- Assist with golf course maintenance tasks as needed, including:
- Mowing
- Changing cups
- Watering
- Raking bunkers
- Tree work
- Other related course duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining gas and diesel engines.
- Knowledge of golf course or landscaping equipment preferred.
- Welding skills a plus.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and safety.
Education/Experience:
- Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls.
- Occasionally sits, climbs or balances.
- Regularly talks or hears.
- Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to100 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration.
- Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens.
- Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level is loud.
