Overview

The Outside Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the golf club's outside operations team and ensures an exceptional experience for members and guests from arrival through departure. The role manages arrival gate coordination, valet, bag service, golf cart operations, practice facility services, player services, tournament support, and seasonal winter operations. During the winter season, when the golf course is closed, this position transitions to supporting property maintenance, snow removal, equipment care, and other seasonal club operations.

This is a full-time, year-round position focused on outside golf operations and member service during the golf season, with continued involvement in winter operations during the off-season.

Experience Required

• Previous experience in golf operations, outside services, valet, hospitality, property maintenance, or a related service environment preferred.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of golf club operations and golf etiquette.
• Exceptional customer-service and communication skills.

• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak golf seasons and winter weather events.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate snow removal and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move golf bags, equipment, supplies, and other materials as required.
• This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and physical activity.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, snowy, and changing weather conditions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily outside operations, including bag service, golf cart operations, practice facilities, player services, and cart staging.
• Ensure golf carts are clean, fueled/charged, properly staged, and readily available for members and guests.
• Ensure golf bags are properly handled, organized, staged, and delivered to the appropriate carts or storage areas.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional bag drop, cart staging, practice facility, and outside-operation areas.
• Coordinate with Golf Professional staff regarding daily tee sheets, tournaments, outings, and special events.
• Assist with tournament setup, cart staging, bag handling, signage, and other event-related responsibilities.
• Monitor pace of play and assist with player flow when necessary.
• Coordinate closely with the arrival gate team to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for members, guests, and visitors.
• Ensure the valet team is prepared for scheduled member and guest arrivals and special events.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate outside operations and valet staff.
• Conduct staff meetings and provide ongoing training in hospitality, valet procedures, golf operations, safety, and club standards.
• Maintain procedures for vehicle keys, guest vehicles, golf carts, bags, and other club property.
• Monitor the condition and cleanliness of golf carts, staging areas, bag storage, practice facilities, and other outside-operation equipment.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures for outside operations and valet services.
• Maintain accurate records related to staffing, equipment, carts, vehicles, and daily operations.
• Assist with snow removal, property maintenance, equipment care, seasonal projects, winterization, and other operational needs during the winter season.
