Description
Personal Injury Litigation Associate
Black Rock Trial Lawyers — Tampa, Florida
HYBRID Position
Compensation: $125,000–$200,000+ total compensation, including base salary and performance bonuses
Black Rock Trial Lawyers is seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Attorney with at least 3+ years of active plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.
This is a HYBRID position. Our office is located in Tampa, Florida, and we are looking for an attorney who wants to be part of a growing litigation team, work directly with clients, take ownership of cases, and develop into a leadership role.
We are a client-first and performance-driven law firm. Every client is a real person who has been injured and needs real help. If you do not enjoy speaking with clients, building relationships, explaining the litigation process, and helping people through difficult situations, this position is probably not for you.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate must have meaningful experience handling plaintiff personal injury litigation matters, including:
Drafting and filing complaints
Drafting and responding to written discovery
Preparing and arguing motions
Attending and conducting motion hearings
Taking and defending depositions
Preparing clients for depositions
Participating in mediations
Case strategy and litigation planning
Preparing cases for trial
Trial experience is a strong plus.
Experience litigating premises liability cases is also a significant plus.
We also value attorneys who previously worked in personal injury pre-litigation before transitioning into litigation, because that experience provides a stronger understanding of case development, medical treatment, damages, insurance negotiations, and the full lifecycle of a personal injury claim.
Who Will Succeed Here
We are looking for someone who is:
Extremely people-oriented
Comfortable communicating frequently with clients
Punctual and dependable
Consistent in following through on commitments
Organized and deadline-driven
Solutions-oriented
Accountable for their caseload
Comfortable working with measurable expectations and KPIs
Able to identify problems and propose solutions
Interested in leadership and long-term professional growth
We expect our attorneys to communicate with clients, understand their stories, keep them informed, and make sure they know that their case matters.
Compensation and Benefits
Total compensation is expected to range from approximately $125,000 to $200,000+, depending on experience, performance, and bonuses.
Benefits include:
Competitive base salary
Performance-based bonuses
Medical benefits
Paid vacation
Florida Bar license fees paid by the firm
Professional and legal association memberships paid by the firm
CLE expenses paid by the firm
Professional development opportunities
Leadership advancement opportunities
Career Growth
This is not intended to be a position where an attorney simply manages a docket indefinitely.
For the right person, there is a defined opportunity to advance into:
Litigation Associate → Litigation Manager → Profit-Sharing Partner
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the firm, become a leader, help develop other attorneys and staff, and participate in the long-term success of the organization.
