The A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University is seeking applicants for a non-tenure system faculty position (Professor of Practice) in Finance and to serve as the Executive Director of the Investment Banking Program. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to build a premier program from the ground up, leveraging the success of a proven pilot program and the full support of the school and its dedicated alumni network. We are searching for a leader who is passionate about mentorship and motivated by the opportunity to build a nationally recognized program.
As the Executive Director of the Investment Banking Program, the person will have leadership responsibilities related to both the curricular and co-curricular components of the Program including curriculum design, mentorship, career development, and employer relations.
As a Professor of Practice, this person will be responsible for: i) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses across different modalities with a particular focus on experiential learning; ii) remaining current and relevant in their field through professional and/or scholarly engagement activities; iii) participating in service to the university and the business school. In addition, intellectual contributions are valued. This is a full-time appointment in the business school’s finance area.
Position starts as early as July 1, 2026. Salary, teaching load, and benefits are commensurate with other major research institutions. Ultimate recruitment for this position is subject to final budgetary approval by the University.
Requirements
Qualifications
It is preferred that successful applicants are either professionally qualified (i.e., master’s degree and a substantial record of relevant professional experience) or academically qualified (e.g., holding a Ph.D. in Finance), and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Candidates without a master’s degree may also be considered if they hold relevant professional certifications (such as the CFA or CFP) or possess extensive industry experience. As the Executive Director, the candidate is expected to have a strong track record in a leadership role in the investment banking industry, with expertise in M&A, corporate finance, and /or valuation. The candidate should also demonstrate passion for mentorship, teaching, and developing junior talent. As a Professor of Practice, the primary considerations will be demonstrated or potential teaching excellence, especially in experiential learning. In both roles, the candidate should demonstrate ability to build relationships with industry partners and collegiality.
