Description
The Resource Development & Marketing Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all fundraising, donor engagement, grant development, communications, marketing, and public relations activities for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera and Uvalde Counties.
This position works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, Governing Boards, staff, community partners, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to secure financial resources, increase community awareness, strengthen donor relationships, and advance the organization's mission. The Director serves as the primary staff lead for fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, grant management, marketing campaigns, social media, media relations, and special events.
Requirements
Development & Fundraising
Develop, implement, and manage all fundraising initiatives for the Club, including the creation and execution of an annual Development Plan aligned with Strategic Plan fundraising priorities.
- Lead donor engagement efforts with the CEO and Board of Directors, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors, foundations, corporations, civic organizations, and community partners, while building and maintaining a major gifts pipeline.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to plan and execute a $5 million comprehensive campaign for Uvalde.
- Manage and expand a $600,000+ annual foundation grant portfolio, overseeing the full grant lifecycle from prospect research and proposal development through compliance, reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Coordinate annual giving campaigns, sponsorship programs, and other fundraising initiatives to strengthen donor engagement, retention, and giving levels.
- Collaborate with program and finance staff to develop competitive grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Track fundraising performance, donor activity, and campaign outcomes using donor management software to ensure accountability and inform strategy.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan, including all social media platforms
- Create content for newsletters, annual reports, donor communications, website updates, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate media outreach and publicity efforts to increase community awareness of Club programs, events, and accomplishments.
Special Events & Volunteer and Community Engagement - Plan and execute fundraising events, donor recognition activities, and community engagement events, including volunteer management.
- Develop sponsorship packages and secure event sponsors.
- Represent the Clubs throughout the community and cultivate partnerships with schools, civic organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen visibility and support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, public relations, or related field but not necessary with experience !
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, marketing, and communications.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor stewardship, including grant writing and management.
- Excellent written, verbal, collaboration, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and donor database/CRM systems.
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
