Porter, Rogers, Dahlman, & Gordon, P.C. (“PRDG”) is a full-service law firm which strives to ensure that every client feels heard, respected, and valued as we work to secure them a favorable outcome. We are currently seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to lead the Litigation Section in our Corpus Christi, TX office. This position is on site.
Compensation flexible based on business generation of the attorney to support his or her practice.
Role Description:
The ideal candidate will be a Lateral Senior Attorney or Lateral Shareholder with their own book of business for a portion of their workload but would also be able to handle existing and new Commercial Litigation matters that come to PRDG. The role involves serving as the lead attorney handling all aspects of commercial litigation. To be successful, possessing skills and attributes necessary to work within a team, think independently, and have personal skills to interface with clients, opposing counsel and the judiciary is necessary.
Responsibilities:
Serve as lead attorney in handling all aspects of commercial litigation matters as well as supervision of litigation teams in complex matters.
Manage the entire legal process, from the investigation and discovery stages through trial prep and trial or final hearing.
Work cases through, including taking depositions, oral arguments and hearing attendance, negotiating settlements, reporting to clients, etc.
Attend court hearings, mediations, trials and arbitrations.
Research applicable laws and findings to develop appropriate legal strategies.
Examine and optimize the use of video, documentary, and physical evidence.
Take depositions and respond to discovery requests.
Draft legal documents incident to litigation matters, including pleadings, contracts, and agreements.
Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
Track and timely and accurately submit billable hours.
Preparation of detailed case reports and summaries.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients of PRDG

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Lateral Senior Attorney or Lateral Shareholder with their own book of business
Candidate must be able to work independently with strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize.
Juris Doctor (J.D) degree.
Admission to the Texas State Bar.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficient in legal research and writing.
First chair trial/final hearing experience in multiple trials and/or arbitrations.
