Description
Strategic Finance & M&A Associate: Philadelphia (on-site) | Six-month engagement
About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional investment banking analyst or junior associate to support a small, highly entrepreneurial team for an intensive six-month engagement.
This is not a traditional banking role.
You will work directly with senior executives and investors across two primary mandates: executing the sale of an operating company and helping build the financial and strategic infrastructure of a rapidly scaling consumer technology business.
You will be the analytical and execution engine supporting a senior member of our team.
What you'll own
Financial modeling, valuation and transaction analysis
CIM and management presentation development
Data room organization and management
Buyer and advisor data requests and Q&A
Operating and financial KPI analysis
Forecasting and scenario modeling
Board, investor and strategic materials
Research and analysis supporting strategic decisions
Transaction and workstream tracking
Whatever analytical problem needs to be solved next
We want someone who can take an incomplete question, find the information, structure the analysis and come back with an answer.
Who you are
You enjoy working directly with decision-makers and want considerably more exposure and responsibility than a traditional banking hierarchy provides. You can work both independently and collaboratively.
You understand financial statements, valuation and transaction processes. You know what excellent work product looks like and you consistently deliver it.
More importantly, you are smart, hungry, curious and low ego. You move quickly without becoming sloppy. You don't wait to be told every next step. You see what's missing and solve for it.
The opportunity
This is initially anticipated to be a six-month engagement. We expect it to be intense, interesting and unusually broad.
