Candidates must have at least 2 of the 3 areas of competence. The position involves bedside patient care. Every other weekend and every other holiday are required. The ICU has a 16-bed capacity and provides intermediate care. The average daily census is 81, with a 2:1 ratio for ICU patients and a 1:3 ratio for intermediate care patients. The Med/Surg/Tele units have a 32-bed capacity. The average daily census ranges from 17 to 22, with a 1:5 patient ratio supported by nursing assistants. Additional support is provided by a lightly assigned Charge Nurse, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio. The ED has 23 monitored beds with an average daily census of 70 to 100 patients, covering all stages of life. The patient ratio is 1:4, increasing to 1:5 during surgical staffing, with nursing assistant support. A dedicated triage nurse is available in the ED.
