Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) is looking to add a Veterinary Neurology Technician to our team. Veterinary Technician - Neurology Full Time
Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists in Williston, VT
$26.00-$32.00 depending on experience and licensure, with a possible range of $35-38/hour for licensed VTS techs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for neurology patients including those presenting with seizures, spinal cord injury, vestibular disease, and other complex neurological conditions
- Monitor and manage hospitalized neurology patients, recognizing and communicating changes in neurological status to the attending clinician
- Administer medications and treatments
- Perform IV catheter placement, venipuncture, cystocentesis, blood pressure monitoring, and fluid pump setup
- Assist with and monitor anesthesia, including for MRI and CT procedures
- Support advanced diagnostic imaging including MRI, CT scanning, myelography, and fluoroscopy
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples including blood, urine, and CSF
- Obtain accurate patient histories, vital signs, and neurological assessments within scope of practice
- Perform thorough triage and physical examinations; clearly communicate findings to the medical team
- Deliver excellent client service including educate clients on neurological conditions, discharge instructions, medication administration, and follow-up expectations
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records including treatment sheets, medication logs, and patient observations
- Ensure compliance with DEA, OSHA, and all hospital protocols
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital environment and support the onboarding of new team members

REQUIREMENTS
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or equivalent) preferred; candidates eligible for licensure within 6 months will be considered
- 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience; neurology, emergency, or specialty experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical skills including anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and patient assessment
- Experience with or strong interest in advanced imaging (MRI, CT) and neurological patient care
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with clients and collaborate across all levels of the team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment
- A team-first mindset with a focus on accountability, continuous learning, and patient-centered care
